Recruiter (Temporary) | Corporate Office

This is a 3-6 month contract position.

Job Summary

The Contract Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating candidates for regional onsite open positions. This individual will work directly with a recruiter to support hiring managers throughout the full lifecycle recruiting and hiring process including discussing open positions and internal options, reviewing applications and conducting phone interviews, coordinating interviews for hiring managers, and negotiating offers.

Essential Functions

  • Implement recruiting plan to increase qualified applicants and overall quality of new hires
  • Responsible for onsite positions within a particular region
  • Review applications and source passive candidates
  • Identify and utilize most effective recruiting resources for each position
  • Evaluate candidates through phone interviewing
  • Serve as recruiting consultant and adviser to hiring managers – interviewing skills, local compensation comparisons, on-boarding strategies, etc.
  • Collaborating with hiring managers regarding offers and negotiating offers when needed
  • Communicating with managers to identify possible internal candidates for promotions
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics
  • Manage local advertising for open positions
  • Effectively utilize social media for employer branding and recruiting
  • Facilitate industry and college event participation to build network of candidates
  • Conduct appropriate follow-up with recent hires
  • Assist with Camden’s Operations Internship program
  • Manage regional temp/recruiter services as needed
  • Complete additional duties and projects as necessary

Qualifications

  • Some recruiting experience required
  • Experience in agency or corporate recruiting highly preferred
  • Multifamily experience is a plus
  • Ability to effectively screen and interview all levels of candidates
  • Knowledge of candidate sourcing vehicles
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Knowledge of employment law

  • Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
  • Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
  • Must have normal range of vision to complete paperwork and computerized documentation; hearing and speech to communicate with residents, vendors, supervisors and coworkers on the telephone or in person on a regular basis
  • Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
  • Works in a typical office setting with daily exposure to outdoor environment (i.e., heat, cold, damp, rain, etc.)
  • Hazards can be avoided with proper lifting techniques, SDS and general safety training
  • Will be regularly called upon to work long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
  • Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
  • May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
  • Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
