Multi-site Bookkeeper – property management

Overview:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Multi-site Bookkeeper at our newest apartment community campus in central Austin. As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the accounting responsibilities of AMLI at Mueller and AMLI Branch Park.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collect rent on time. Send delinquent notices on outstanding rent and follow-up. Charge fees as required-file legal eviction when approved by Supervisor.
• Post rental receipts on the computer and scan daily bank deposits-input Accounts Payable information into the computer weekly.
• Update the computer daily with new lease information, move-ins, move-outs, lease renewals, etc. Process Final Account Statements to close accounts for former residents and applicants. Follow up on outstanding balances and submit accounts to collections when necessary.
• Maintain files of reports, accounts payable, and dead files. Generate month-end reports and complete checklists, including but not limited to Occupancy Month End, Accounting Month End, and Utility Pre-bill. Send weekly packages with reports and bills to the Chicago Corporate Office.
• Maintain the resident information systems and files and interact with residents and banks. Report unusual circumstances regarding the property or residents to the Supervisor.
• Provide quality customer service and timely response to resident requests and complaints. This includes helping residents and prospects before, during, and after leasing an apartment,

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in the multifamily/apartment industry is a plus.
