Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer | Remote Position

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining both physical and cloud-based infrastructure systems that are critical to Camdenâ™s business operations. They are responsible for Computing Facilities, Servers, Storage, IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and Application Delivery Platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Camden’s IT Infrastructure is sufficiently robust, secure and simplifies delivery of integrated services across the organization.

Essential Functions

Design, Build and Operate

• Server Platforms (ESX, VMware, XenServer, Windows Server, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Azure and AWS)
• Storage Platforms (Pure, Cisco SAN, Windows File Server, DFS, CIFS, SMB, NFS, SFTP, Block Replication, Deduplication, Storage Migration, Data Encryption, Azure Blobs – Files – Managed Disks & Data Lake Storage, AWS S3 – Glacier – Aurora & RDS)
• Backup & Restore Services (Veeam, Windows Server Backup, Azure Backup, AWS Backup)
• Data Encryption (Thales CipherTrust Data Security Platform)
• Authentication (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect)
• Application Delivery (Azure Proxy, Citrix XenDesk & XenApp)
• Server Patching and Management (SCCM, Ninja One, ESX, XenServer, UCS Firmware, vSphere)
• Server and Network Monitoring (SCOM, Solarwinds, Data Center Infrastruxure, APC Netbotz, Server Tech PDU)
• Disaster Recovery (Site Recovery Manager, Active Directory Authoritative Restore and object level restore, Veeam, AWS, Azure)

Day-to-Day

• Maintain, automate, and feed a central status page with recurring operational checks that run every 30 minutes against critical components of your service.
• Respond and resolve incidents, service requests and changes assigned to you and your group.
• Assist other team members and the rest of IT with troubleshooting all components of Infrastructure Services, Applications and Endpoint User Devices
• Collaborate with other members of Information Technology or other functional areas to achieve goals related to projects; this may include mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, etc.
• Track and report metrics on your services; remediate anomalies as required.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response to an IT crisis.
• Articulate the root cause and suggest specific solutions.
• Adhere to technology policies, procedures, and controls, including but not limited to Camdenâ™s IT Computer Policy and internal IT policies and procedures.
• Maintain an expert level of knowledge for products and technologies within your services.
• Research, test, and recommend better products, technology, and solutions. This may involve working vendors, obtaining quotes, procurements, licensing, renewals, cost, and budget management.
• Train and mentor team members regarding technical aspects of your services
• Work independently to troubleshoot, identify, and remediate technical issues.
• Work with external vendors/consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelorâ™s degree with a concentration in Computer Science or Business Administration is preferred.
• Server, Storage and Networking preferred certifications from Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, Citrix, Cisco, AWS and Azure.
• 10 years of experience in IT with at least 5 years of experience in Servers and Storage required.
• Experience in Core Networking (Cisco), LAN/WAN/SD-WAN (Cisco Meraki), Wireless, Firewall (Cisco, AWS, Windows), VPN (Cisco, MS Direct Access)
• Experience with Data Center and Computing Facilities (Power, Environmental, Structured Cabling, Rack Management, etc.)
• Experience in project management and leadership of small teams.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical leadership to diversified teams that span IT and other business units.
• Technical understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley controls and the methods used to ensure compliance; ability to eliminate risk and achieve real value through compliance.
• Proficiency in corporate tools and software: Service Now, Office 365, Oracle Cloud (HR and Finance), Expense Management, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
• Strong sense of customer service, values, and ethics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Some travel may be required.
