Asset Management Intern
Job Summary
The primary function of the Asset Management Intern will be to assist with asset management and reporting functions for existing and future assets. In addition, this person will work with the Operations team to gain valuable experience into our on-site operations, from company-wide initiatives to community procedures.
Essential Functions
- Assist in creating reports for Camdenâ™s interior rehab program and other capital projects
- Measure the effectiveness of capital improvement/rehab programs
- Help to prepare, assemble, and distribute various ad hoc reports and presentations
- Help prepare business plans and return analysis on potential value add communities within the existing portfolio
- Mitigate risk through variance analysis and identification of unexpected trends
- Create, maintain and interpret financial data
- Reconcile and report on various asset management initiatives across the Camden portfolio
- Participate in department initiatives and special projects
Requirements
- Must be a student currently enrolled in a Finance, Real Estate or Accounting program; Masterâ™s program preferred
- Sales, customer service, and management minded individual with attention to detail is required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles
- Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i. e. , climb stairs)
- Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
- Works in a typical office setting

- May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
- Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
- May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
- Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
- Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
